“No amount of thought will ever result in any greater formulation than the three words, ‘Love one another,’ so long as it is love to the end and without exceptions.”

– St. Maria (Skobtsova)

The Mother Maria of Paris Charitable Ministry is the charitable arm of the Diocese of the Midwest. It assists in the centralization of all efforts throughout the diocese by publicizing them and allowing those ministries to receive donations.

It was formed in 2019 through His Grace Bishop PAUL’s vision to support the service and missionary work of Orthodox Christians in Midwest America.

We invite you to participate in the wonderful work that is being done by Orthodox Christians in the name of Jesus Christ for those in need in our neighborhoods by donating, volunteering, and praying for these ministries and those whom they serve. On the Ministries page, you’ll find profiles of Orthodox ministries within the boundaries of the Diocese of the Midwest. Some ministries are taking place within diocesan parishes, some are pan-Orthodox nonprofits, and some are in other jurisdictions, though all are responding to Our Lord’s call to sacrificial love.

We are inspired by the life and example of St. Maria Skobtsova, whose motto was, “Each person is the very icon of God incarnate in the world.” Therefore, this ministry seeks to keep Christ’s commandment of serving our neighbor in need (Matthew 25), through fundraising, service opportunities, and education.
